Job description:
- Responsible for the accurate setup and operation of all seismic recording systems and streamers with associated hardware/devices onboard the vessel.
- Actively participate in small boat operations including in-water equipment maintenance & Fast Rescue Craft formalities.
- Responsible for all the in-sea recording equipment, which can include up to 80km of towed streamer. Deploying seismic spreads of this scale requires thorough planning and excellent teamwork. To maintain it requires thorough technical and working knowledge of digital electronics and computing.
Skills required:
- Relevant offshore experience (On-line positions)
- 5 years offshore experience (Senior positions)
- Degree / HND / HNC or equivalent in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or similar.
- Experience of Syntrak, MSX, or Seal Recording systems.
- Experience of Seismic Gun Controller systems.
- Good knowledge of Electronics.
- Good level of English and written communication skills necessary.
- Must be a team player with a willingness to help when necessary.
- Must possess a willingness and ability to travel and work offshore for extended periods of time.
- Work boat and in-water maintenance experience and qualifications an advantage.
- Deployment onboard seismic survey vessels, working shifts of up to 12 hours per day, typically on trips of 5 to 6 weeks in duration.
